Among the strangers at present at
the seat of Government, is Madame Eugene
Beaumarchais de la Rue, daughter
of the late Baron de Beaumarchais,
whose large and long standing claim against
the U. S. and connection with
our Revolutionary history has rendered
his name interesting to the people of
this country. Madame de la Rue lately
arrived from France with some of her
children, and comes, we understand, to
make a personal appeal to the American
Government in relation to the claim
above referred to.—Nat. Int.
