LANGFORD BOUT
New York, July 12.-William Gibson, president of the Fairmont A. C., says that Al Kubiak deliberately backed out of his match with Sam Langford last week, and that a bout between Langford and Willie Lewis would be a farce, in spite of Lewis' bombastic talk when he recently arrived here from Europe, when he said Langford was afraid of him. Gibson has received so many requests from the club members for some kind of a glove contest that he has arranged a 10-round bout between Bert Keyes and Johnny Marto for next Friday night. These boys are sluggers and willing mixers. They are anxious to settle the question of supremacy in a decisive way, as the winner will have a match with either Dick Hyland or Leach Cross. The Fairmont club will conduct bouts all summer if proper material is available.
