ELECTIONS.

Mr. Jenks,

I WAS gratified to notice in your last paper, the nomination of ISAAC ADAMS, to succeed Mr. Ilsley as Register of Deeds for the county of Cumberland; and I can assure you he will be liberally supported in this quarter. I am aware that many nominations will be made, and various pretences urged to influence suffrages-But I trust that the good sense of the voters will lead them to unite in a man whose talents, integrity, and attention to business, promise much usefulness to his fellow citizens. These qualifications are certainly the best recommendation to an office, the faithful discharge of the duties of which is too important to the community to admit of any other considerations in the choice,
