Up to noon Tuesday officials here had learned nothing of the outcome of the state highway department's second request for bids for the construction of stretches of state highway between Danielson and the Rhode Island line at Little Rest and between Brooklyn and Hampton. Selectmen John A. Gilbert was making an effort to get in touch with the highway department offices at Hartford and to learn whether bids for the work had been received. There is a possibility that the road will be built this season, if no bids were received on the latest asking, it was stated here again on Tuesday, but details of such a possible programme were not given out.
