UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA NEWS

University of Arizona (Tucson) Dec. 14.- John E. Mock, Tucson student of the University of Ariz., will represent Arizona as the 1927 Rhodes scholar at Oxford University, England. Dr. Cloyd H. Marvin, chairman of the state selection committee, announced last Saturday following the examinations of the candidates. Mock is a Senior at the University, and will continue his studies in modern history at Oxford, he said following his selection.

He is one of the two ranking students in the University, and was recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa, national honorary scholastic fraternity. As former president of the Junior class, and member of the Shaman Players and Theta Alpha Phi, national honorary dramatic fraternity, Mock has participated in many student activities at the University of Arizona. He will go into residence at Oxford next fall for a term of three years.
