EDUCATORS ENDORSE U. M. T.

For many years, the majority of the educators in the United States have opposed universal military training on the grounds that it would "militarize" the country and detract from the influence of the public schools.

Not long ago, however, a representative body of American educators announced support for universal military service, accepting the plan of James B. Conant, President of Harvard University, which calls for the conscription of every youth who reaches the age of 18.

The altered opinion of the educators of this country reflects credit upon them and indicates that they understand what is going on in the world.
