Ruth Teeple Reid presented her elementary students in two recitals Saturday at the studio, 753 Holt avenue, the first group being presented as a demonstration by Grade I of class piano work, and the second, individual piano solos.

These recitals are in the nature of practice affairs, in which the children learn to play in public by playing first for their parents, friends and for each other.

They are, however, finished affairs in every respect, all playing from memory, and in these two recitals showing a marked technical development during the semester.

The first recital opened with an action song, the entire group taking part in singing and action, after which scale songs were presented by Francis Magee, Linda Cook and Russell Kirk.

These same three gave a demonstration of creative music after which solos were presented by Beth Haas, Jimmie Jennings, Jimmie Chambers, Thad Hodgkin, Doris Laird, Nancy Bramkamp, Bill Tyler, Barbara Baumer, Joanne Holmes, the program concluding with a duet by Beth Haas and Jimmy Chambers.

Members of the group unable to be present were: Suzanne Harris, Mark Riley and George McFaddin.

Soloists in the second recital were: Lenore Allender, Nicky Bolin, Barbara Brandt, Rosemarie Davis, Jo Ann Dilbeck, Darrell Hampton, Dorothy Hatch, Nancy Jo Heil, Beverly Holmes, Patsy James, Francie Lee Kirk, Patsy McQuade, Eleanor Roberts, Loraine Sims, Lorraine Stafford, Patsy Tyler, all an older group of students who presented an interesting program which closed with the singing of the national anthem by performers and guests, Francie Lee Kirk acting as conductor.

The studio was decorated in the George Washington theme with tiny American flags, the symbolic hatchets, and gorgeous bouquets of red, white, and blue sweetpeas from the John Kuhn gardens.
