Zophar B. Keeler, of Mill Plain, on going home from church, last Sunday, saw a negro lurking about his house. The latter hid behind a box when he saw Keeler's team approach, but when Keeler went up to him he attempted to escape, and was only brought to by the sight of a pistol. Keeler brought him into town, with a view to lodging a complaint against him for attempted burglary, but the man plead innocence of the crime, and as there was really nothing to warrant such a charge, Keeler was induced to let him go.
