Twenty five or thirty members of Col. P. Turney's First Tennessee Regiment met last Monday at the office of Capt. T. D. Gregory for the purpose of perfecting plans for the general re-union which is to take place at Winchester the 6th of next month. Col. Turney was called to the Chair and W. J. Slatter appointed Secretary. Resolutions were adopted with regard to the providing of eatables and the reception of all who come, and the liberality manifested by those present was an earnest that there will be no lack of provisions. Capt. J. H. Davis, who generally succeeds in what he undertakes, just said if there was to be any trouble about provisions, it would get his dander up and he would provide for the whole regiment.
We look forward with pleasure to this re-union. Every member who can come is required to come, and bring such friends as he may see fit. There will be no speaking, no band music, no whisky-drinking, but just a social meeting of "the boys" who went out so promptly to battle for what they believed was a righteous cause. There will be plenty of fun, and, alas! there will be sad regrets that many cannot come from the honorable graves they fill.
