Cause of Soldiers Death
Savannah, Ga., Nov. - A lack of blankets and overcoats is assigned by Governor Dorsey as the cause of the recent deaths among soldiers at Macon. He was in Savannah Monday and Tuesday attending the meeting of the Land Owners' and Cattle Raisers' Association. He also reviewed the four companies of the Savannah Volunteer Guards (Now coast artillery stationed at Fort Screven) in the monster Red Cross parade, and spoke at the Red Cross annual meeting Monday night. During the morning the governor was the guest of Mayor W. J. Pierpont aboard his yacht on an inspection trip of the river. Luncheon was served aboard. Governor Dorsey refused to deny or affirm the reports that he would become a candidate for the United States senate.
