McAllen people will have opportunity to see modern mechanized army equipment here next Saturday when a Scout car platoon is sent from Fort Brown on a tour of the Valley. The platoon will be in McAllen from 8:30 to 8:45 a. m. at the corner of Austin and Broadway.
Troop barracks will be open at Fort Brown from 1 to 1:30, and a mounted parade may be seen at 1:30. A machine gun troop will demonstrate at 2 and 2:15 a communications platoon will demonstrate at 2:30 p. m. and at 3 p. m. officers and enlisted men will compete in jumping contests.
A polo game will be played at 3:45. Captain C. K. Darling, publicity officer, has invited Valley people to attend the program. The McAllen chamber of commerce tourist department will use the events as an entertainment feature on this week's calendar.
