COMMUNICATION.

MR. FENNO,

It must give the highest satisfaction to the citizens of Philadelphia and its connections, to learn that the quarantine is performed by the ships of war and other vessels off the Lazaretto with the utmost punctuality; and every regulation of the board of health, promptly and cheerfully attended unto, much to the honour of the masters and owners.

Captain Decatur, of the United States sloop of war Delaware, arriving from a long and fatiguing cruise, under the expectation of the immediate welcome of his family and friends, finding the health law in operation, readily sacrificed his own feelings to the public convenience, and performed quarantine with such particular attention as must ever raise him high in the esteem of the public. Every thing, the ballast not excepted, was carefully washed, and the ship on her coming up to the city at the expiration of the quarantine, was, perhaps the most clean vessel of war that ever entered a port. It is hoped that such exemplary conduct will ever be followed by vessels under quarantine. These being attended to, and all nuisances removed from the city and its vicinity, under God we hope, that our city will escape that awful scourge, which lately rendered Philadelphia and other cities in the United States, a scene of horror, and filled every house with lamentation and woe.
