DOVER, January 14.

Delaware Federalism.

In joint meeting of the legislature on Tuesday last, the hon. S. White was chosen senator in the senate of the United States, for the ensuing six years, commencing on the 4th of March next.

There were two persons in nomination, a democrat and a republican, the votes being tallied they stood thus—

Republican, Candidate

S. White 20.

Democratic do

Geo. Reed—9.

From this circumstance the republicans in the United States will know how to give credit to the bold assertions of the democrats that this state was fast hastening to join the phalanx of democracy.
