Full Text

A Correspondent desires us to assure the Publick (for he heard it from a Noble Lord who was present) that Lord Chatham never dropped an Expression tending to throw any Blame on the Rockingham Administration; that he blamed the People of Boston for destroying the Tea, which he said was a popular Act that could not be defended, but he was exceedingly severe upon Administration, and condemned them highly for their Injustice in taking the worst Mode of getting Reparation. In short, his Lordship expressed no other Sentiments relative to America but what would have pleased the honest Head in Boston. Lord Temple seconded Lord Chatham in the Debate, and agreed with him in almost every Idea; was particularly pointed against Administration, showed them to be consistent in Folly, or the basest Designs.
