ELLIOTT BRADFORD WINS THIRD PLACE IN CONTEST

Elliott Bradford of the Wrangell High School who qualified for the finals in the recent historical essay contest held by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary won third place in the Territory in competition with students of Fairbanks, Seward, Valdez, Sitka, Petersburg and Wrangell. Wm. Holt, son of the superintendent of the Seward High School, took the first prize and Ruth Converse of Valdez second. The contest was sponsored by the American Legion in Alaska and the Territorial prizes were $25., $15 and $10 for first, second and third place, respectively.
