EXTRACTS FOLLOW.
London, July 22.
Our readers will see by the two last Bulletins, that His Majesty has at length enjoyed some hours of sleep, and though this refreshment was obtained by the means of opiates, it has had the effect of lowering the fever. We have stated our readers that it is the mental disorder only which is alarming in his Majesty's case. There is no decay of the constitution which excites any serious apprehension: and it is a proof of the original strength of his Majesty that he has been able to bear up against the violence of his inflammation. We are assured that for a period of fifty four hours, he neither closed his eyes, took any aliment or for one instant ceased talking with incoherence. The following are the two last Bulletins:-
"Windsor Castle, July 20, 1811.
"The King has had several hours sleep in the course of the night. His Majesty is in no respect worse this morning."
"Windsor Castle, July 21.
"His Majesty has had some sleep in the night, and is upon the whole a little better."
Stocks experienced a considerable advance on Saturday morning, under an expectation of a most afflicting event, which it is supposed would occasion some overtures of a pacific nature from Bonaparte.
It was on Friday last resolved that Parliament shall be prorogued, and this will take place by Commission, and a Speech in the name of the Prince Regent. In that Speech, we understand that the two Houses of Parliament will receive his Royal Highness' thanks for the salutary Bill they have passed, respecting Bank Notes and Specie. The Speech will also give us the comfortable assurance of continuing our most strenuous efforts, in Conjunction with our allies, against the common enemy.
