Compton, R. I., June 16.-A boy fishing in the mill trench west of this village this morning found the body of a woman floating in the water. The lad called his father, who was fishing nearby and the body was taken from the water. It proved to be the body of Mrs. Mary Kelly, a weaver, employed at the Quidnick mills, whose husband is said to be known in Webster, Mass. The woman was last seen just after midnight when she and a woman companion who had been to Jericho together parted near the Quidnick railroad station. The woman had been drinking, but according to the story told by her companion, was not drunk. Later, her hat covered with blood, was found in the bushes near the mill trench. The autopsy will definitely settle whether the woman was the victim of an accident, suicide or foul play.
