The Nashville Union & American has been represented here during the week by Mr. Sneed, who has been taking notes for that popular journal. He, with all other newspaper men who may be present during the exhibition of the week, are invited to make the Citizen office headquarters.
We had the pleasure of meeting at the Park several times this week Col. Barner, of Tuscumbia, who is a great admirer of fine stock, and takes a lively interest in the exhibition.
Dr. J. F. Grant, general agent of the Nashville Life Insurance Company, is spending the week in our midst. We are happy to know that he is somewhat improved in health.
Col. T. C. Goodrich, an old and very popular merchant of Fayetteville, paid our city a visit last week, with a view of settling among us and going into business. He had not fully decided when he left whether he would come or not.
Col's. Luke Pryor and Jno. H. Binford, of Athens, two leading gentlemen in their locality, have spread the sunlight of their genial countenances over the grounds of the Park for the past day or two. Pulaskians who have visited the Athenian city will feel under obligations to extend peculiar courtesies to these gentlemen.
Our particular friend, Tom. B. Harris, of Athens, dropped in on us a few minutes yesterday morning. His genial countenance made things look brighter in our dreary sanctum.
