Received intelligence, from his Excellency General Putnam, of the enemy being in motion towards South Amboy. It is probable they will attempt to gain possession of the city of Philadelphia. In consequence of which, the Council have recommended it to the militia to hold themselves in readiness, as the call will be sudden, and probably in a few days to oppose their cruel enemies in the field.

Congress proposes to form a camp near to Philadelphia, to which the militia are to repair when called upon, arms, tents, and the necessary camp equipage, being already provided.
