ALFONSO LEAVES BARCELONA.

Expresses Gratitude That He Was Well Treated.

Barcelona, March 12.—After a two days' visit to this city, King Alfonso left for Madrid last evening. Great crowds gathered on the streets and at the station to bid him farewell, and the royal train moved away to the cheering of the multitude. Before his departure the king expressed his gratitude for the splendid reception given him and for the manifestations of loyalty the Catalonians showed during his visit.

The day was occupied by King Alfonso in visiting several institutions, paying his respects naval representatives of Austria on board the Austrian flagship, and inspecting a detachment of troops and the Atarazanas barracks.
