The January Term of the Jefferson Circuit Court began on Tuesday morning, with Judge J. M. Woods, presiding.
The Grand Jury had some ten or eleven cases to consider, and were still busily occupied when we went to press on Tuesday afternoon.
The Grand Jury was composed of the following gentlemen: Rolf Gerhardt, Milton Burr, R. W. Dunaway, T. J. Yates, Walter Flanagin, Chas. H. Dailey, Shirley Nichols, Rion Lucas, George Billmyer, Henry C. Martin, B. L. Byers, Chas. R. Langdon, Miller B. Bane, Randolph Bowers, J. S. Carr and L. F. Grantham.
The Petit Jury is called for January 27, the second Tuesday of the term.
The Grand Jury reported two indictments at noon on Tuesday. Bush Tucker, colored, and Francis Gunn, charged with stealing goods from the warehouse of D. C. Winebrenner & Son last fall.
