Full Text

The sale of a paper which was sold about the streets of Paris for two sous, having been impeded by the unjust interference of the Police, the editor signified his resolve of personally repairing to the Bourse for the sale of his paper, expressing his determination to use force to force, and even sacrifice his life in behalf of his rights, should they attempt to be infringed. Immense numbers were attracted to the spot. The whole edition was sold off in little time. The editor, quietly pocketing the cash, marched off in triumph, expressing defiance at the interference of the government minions, who, with more discretion than generally marks their acts, avoided coming in collision with the people. The editor was unable to repeat his experiment, the following day, as his whole edition was again bought out, and he therefore had none remaining to offer for sale on the Place de la Bourse.
