EMPEROR: HAILE SELASSIE MAY RETURN TO ETHIOPIA AND REORGANIZE ARMY

GENEVA--(SNS)--Haile Selassie, vanquished Emperor of Ethiopia, is planning tentatively to return to western Ethiopia to organize the remnants of his once powerful army into a potent factor of resistance against the Italian forces in East Africa, authoritative sources informed Sunday night. Selassie will leave after the League assembly adjourns, if his presence is required at the forthcoming Tuesday session, when the Assembly meets to consider lifting anti-Italian sanctions, which were made against Italy, the aggressor against Ethiopia, last October.

The Negus will make a personal appearance before the assembly to plead the Ethiopian cause and possibly, demand financial assistance from the League to carry on his proposed military plan against Italy and her mechanized motorized columns.

Investigators have shown that the Italian military occupation of Ethiopia has not yet been extended into the western and southwestern provinces. The deposed Lion of Judah will show the Assembly that a legitimate government has been established and armed forces still exist in the unconquered portions of the 2000 year old kingdom.

Plans by Selassie indicate that he will enter western Ethiopia through the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan immediately in the event his presence is not required in Europe. Selassie has already informed Sir Anthony Eden, British Foreign Secretary of his decision and plans.

The King of Kings fears that Ethiopia's cause will be lost completely unless he can prove that there is still remnant of the old Ethiopian government forces fighting against the Italians.

The British Foreign Secretary was said to have received the news favorably as such a move would permit the British government to grant Ethiopians the right to carry arms and ammunition into western Sudan through the Sudan. Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin gave his sanction for such a move provided the "proper authorities" received the arms shipment.
