Colored Pythians Meet in Bamberg

A district meeting of the colored Knights of Pythias was held at Frasier school in Bamberg Monday. The district comprises the lodges in Bamberg county, six in number, with a membership of about 300. The business session of the district was held in the afternoon, and was featured by the presence of the grand chancellor of the state, J. A. Brown, of Charleston.

The lodges were well represented, and a splendid meeting is reported.

Monday night a public meeting was held. H. W. Johnson, of Bamberg, was the master of ceremonies, and Rev. T. A. Robinson welcomed the visitors to Bamberg. Grand Chancellor Brown made a splendid address, and H. W. Johnson responded to his address in a short talk.

This was the first meeting of the district, the lodges organizing Monday afternoon.
