Fall from Train

An inquest will be held this afternoon at Green's undertaking establishment on the death of John L.
Jackson, colored, who was killed yesterday when he fell from a freight
train in the Alton & Southern yards.

Jackson, according to A. & S. special agents, was trespassing on railroad property and boarded a moving freight train at State street about
1:30 yesterday afternoon. He fell
from the train a short distance from
the point where he boarded it and
was cut to pieces by the wheels.

Jackson, according to the railroad
officials, had been drinking.
