City Council won't allow Hetzler Bros. to try their plan.
The "odorless" slaughter house which Hetzler Brothers want to establish in the basement of their plant will not have a chance to prove whether it is odorless or not, for the City Council will not permit it.
Hetzler Brothers through W. I. Hetzler, a councilman, brought the matter before the council September 19 and stated that he had received a letter from Dr. W. P. Cutler, state food, dairy and drug commissioner, saying that there could be no harm in such a plant if it was kept clean, and that he, Dr. Cutler, would see that it was clean or have it closed.
The council then asked the advice of the Board of Health, and it reported to the council today a resolution, that it is not to the best interest of the town to permit the erection of a slaughter house within the city limits.
