Full Text

From a Correspondent.

The executive directory has published an arrete respecting their satisfaction with the conduct of Victor Hughes, while at Guadeloupe. Well done, thou good and faithful servant, having sufficiently plundered, persecuted, and murdered all from whom anything could be got, pour the fruits of thy labor into the national lap, of which we have the custody: Thy name shall be enrolled on the list of worthies, such as Robespierre, Foullier, Santhonax &c. and, should it be the will of Satan to continue our kingdom, we will again send thee to torture the citizens of the United States, for thou delightest in the misery of mankind; his groans are music to thy ears when they precede the acquisition of extorted wealth. Salut and fraternite.
