Shocking. We learn by the Gazette, that on Saturday last, about one o'clock in the afternoon, major Nathaniel Musgrove, of Montgomery county, Md. being informed that his son-in-law Alexander Duvall, who resided at a short distance, was violently beating his wife, went hastily to Mr. Duvall's house to interpose. Mr. Duvall, much enraged at the interposition, declared that he would shoot the major, and ran to a neighbouring house, where he procured a loaded gun returned to his own house, and standing in his yard, near the door, called to major Musgrove to come out—as the major come out of the door, Duvall fired and lodged the contents of the gun in his body, he fell in the doorway, and expired shortly after.
