Licenses Already Granted by City Council; Chads Buy Only One License From County, Request Shows

Fourteen licenses to sell beer were authorized by the Vance Board of County Commissioners yesterday and today with some prospect of others being granted today before the second day of the monthly meeting of the board ends. License charged by the county is $25, and this is in addition to the license, which is $15 for "on the premises" license and $10 for "off the premises" license. It is understood also that a Federal government agent will be along shortly to get Uncle Sam's fee.

Licenses granted by the commissioners were mostly to dealers in the city who got their permits from the City Council. Application was made to the City Council by the Pender and A. and P. grocery chains for licenses for both their two respective stores in the city, but each company asked for only one store license before the county commissioners.

Licenses granted by the commissioners were announced today as follows:

Woolard's drug store.
Dorsey's drug store.
Henderson candy kitchen,
Jefferson cafe,
Central hotel,
Andrew Knight.
A. and P.,
Pender.
Mrs. Elizabeth Huffman,
C. C. Loughlin,
Gateway Service Station.
Hilltop Service Station,
Green Grill,
Busy Bee cafe.
