Huron. - A meeting of the republican state committee was held in this city, and Huron was selected as the place for holding the state republican convention July 2. This convention is held for the purpose of drawing up a platform and selecting electors.
The official call issued follows:
Pursuant to statutory requirements, a delegate convention of the republican electors of the state of South Dakota, is hereby called to meet at the opera house in the city of Huron, in the state of South Dakota, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of July, 1912, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon.
Said convention is for the purpose of adopting a party platform and nominating candidates for presidential electors and the transaction of any and all other business that may properly come before said convention.
The basis of representation for each county to said convention is one delegate for each 100 votes, or major fraction thereof, cast by such political party in said county for Hon. Robert S. Vessey, for the office of governor at the general election held in November 1910.
