The following exaggerated account is taken from a New York paper of July 3.

On the morning of the 25th ult. about one o'clock, his Excellency General Sir William Howe marched out of Amboy with part of the army under his command. The division under the direction of Lord Cornwallis fell in with a body of about 3000 of the rebel army near Bonhamtown, which his Lordship soon put to flight, killed about one hundred, and took seventy prisoners, with three pieces of cannon. The prisoners and cannon were brought to this city last Sunday morning.
