Full Text

By private letters which were received on Monday night, France is involved in one universal scene of confusion. The inhabitants in all the inland provinces, destitute of every thing that can render life comfortable, or even tolerable, are rising into petty insurrections, which, it was feared, would very soon become general; and the inhabitants of Paris are clamorous about the loss of their few remaining liberties. His Majesty comes as seldom as possible into Paris; never, indeed, but when it is absolutely necessary. He resides at Versailles, and sees but little company. On the 6th inst. a traitorous paper was found pasted up in the square of Lewis XIV advising the people to a revolution.
