One of the featured speakers to appear before the four general assemblies of the Western Alaska Educators Conference in Anchorage on March 9th and 10th will be Dr. Max Beberman, who was a teacher here several years ago and who now is an outstanding authority in a new method of teaching mathematics.
An estimated 1,100 teachers are expected to attend this meeting in Anchorage. From Nome the following teachers will be leaving Wednesday: Shiela O'Brien, Sharon Lichtenberg, Lennie Mae Nerland, Doris Bierwagon, Frank Gavin, Don Grettie and Conrad Potter.
Other outstanding speakers are Dr. Costigan, professor of history from the University of Washington, Theo Norby, Commissioner of Education and Dr. Hujer, from Prague University, well known physicist and astronomer.
