MARQUARD WILLING TO PITCH EVERY BATTLE IF NECESSARY
This picture shows the Athletics as "Connie" Mack will send them out on the diamond in the first struggle with the Giants. As can be seen, the players are covering the respective positions they will be found in this afternoon, "Chief" Bender, the great Indian hurler of the Philadelphia team, will be on the pitching mound and measure steel with the "Peerless" Matty. Mack makes no secret of the fact that he expects the Chippewa twirler to defeat the king of National League pitchers.
