MRS. S. C. P. THOMAS.—The application of this lady, for a divorce from her husband, Francis Thomas, of Maryland, has been nobly responded to by the Virginia House of Delegates. Her petition handed in a day or two since, was answered in the House on Friday, by a bill from the Committee of Courts of Justice; which not only was reported unanimously in her favor by the Committee; but the rules of the House were suspended to take up the bill, that it might go through all its readings, and to its final passage the same day.

It will be a source of gratification to the numerous friends of this lady, when we inform them, that the bill for her divorce and change of name, to Miss S. C. P. M'Dowell, passed without a dissenting voice.
