MURDER WILL OUT.—Nine years ago, a man by the name of Charles Schultz, resided in this place, and was a member of one of the military companies of the city. At a party, given at the Western Star, on the west side of the river, Schultz and a number of other members of the company were present. When the party broke up, a sabre and belt were found missing, and though thorough search was made at the time, no clue could be obtained as to what had become of them. About the same time a double barrelled shot gun was stolen from the house of a man living in the 6th ward, and a revolver from a man living on Main street. Soon after this Schultz removed to Milwaukee, and from there went to Chicago. In this latter city, he has since resided, and has obtained considerable notoriety for his repeated appearances at the Police Court. He earned the cognomen of wife beater, and now has two wives living, both of whom he has abused in a shocking manner. A few weeks since his first much abused spouse, feeling a desire to bring her husband to justice, wrote and informed Mayor Muhlberger of this city, of his whereabouts, and also in relation to the stolen articles mentioned above. Sheriff Giles procured a warrant from Justice Ducasse, and proceeded to Chicago to arrest the man. The authorities of Chicago strangely enough refused to give up one of their citizens on the authority of a warrant from a Wisconsin Justice, and so a requisition was obtained from the Governor. Armed with this, Sheriff Giles again proceeded to Chicago, procured the aid of a detective, arrested Schultz, and found in his house the identical sabre, gun and revolver which were stolen from this city nine years ago. Schultz was brought here and examined on Wednesday, and is now in jail at Jefferson awaiting his trial which will come off next month.
