LONDON, March 2.

On Monday last Mr. James Dixon, Master of the Northumberland Man of War, was brought to Town from Portsmouth by a Messenger of the Admiralty, and by a Warrant from the Right Honourable the Commissioners of that Board, directed to the Keeper of the Marshalsea, was committed Prisoner during the Term of his Natural Life. He was tried by a Court Martial at Portsmouth, and found guilty of taking the Command of the Northumberland from the first Lieutenant (the Captain being then sick in his Cabin) and striking to the French, contrary to the Advice of the other Officers.
