Washington, D. C., Nov. 24.-INS-The White House announced today that a consignment of United States Army troops will occupy Dutch Guiana to completely assure safety of the bauxite mines there.

The decision to send American troops into South America Dutch possessions was reached after consultation with the Dutch government in exile in London in which the Brazilian government concurred.

The mines involved supply 60 per cent of the United States' requirement for aluminum.

The White House said that the American troops would be withdrawn "as soon as the present danger to mines is removed and at the latest at conclusion of hostilities."
