Tuesday Morning Lieut. Hutchins of one of Major Rogers's Companies of Rangers, came to Town from Crown Point; all that we could learn by him was, That His Excellency General Amherst, and most of our Army were at Fort-Frederick, or Crown-Point, which he left 6 Days before, hearty and in high Spirits; and that they were getting their Provisions, &c. over to the Fort:--That the Brig and Schooner building in Lake Champlain were in great Forwardness; and the Rangers constantly employed in making Discoveries of the Enemy.--That as he Came thro' Albany he was informed, that the Prisoners taken at Niagara, were expected in two Hours in that City, escorted by a Party of English Troops and Indians, which last were dressed with the French Officers Cloaths, which they took in the Fort.
The Number of Prisoners was 704; there was also many Scalps bringing with them; but the exact Number he did not hear.

By the Courier from Albany we learn, That on the 11th Inst. the Prisoners taken in the Fort at Niagara, consisting of 629 Men, were brought in there, and went on board Vessels the next Morning and sailed for New York; those that were taken in the Wood Fight near Niagara, are still there among our Indians, who have about 200 Scalps, and are also soon expected in Albany: The above Prisoners were all likely Men and mostly Canadians. We also learn, that General Amherst has sent some Indians and two Officers from Crown Point across the Woods and Lake, to General Wolfe at Quebec.--That the Army were in Perfect Health and high Spirits, and desirous of nothing more than to be kept warm while they were at it. General Amherst was getting in readiness to proceed down Lake Champlain, to St. John's, where 'tis said the French are determined to make a stand.
