The object of the meeting, as stated, was an organization of the Christian churches of Dallas, for the purpose of holding a series of union meetings, to be conducted under the ministrations of the English evangelist, Rev. Francis Grant. A letter from the Rev. F. Grant was read, indicating the 5th day of August next as the time when he could answer the call heretofore made, for the beginning of the meetings. The following congregations were represented either by pastor or laymen:
Lamar Street Methodist Episcopal Church South, Rev. M. H. Neely, pastor.
First Presbyterian Church, Dr. A. P. Smith, pastor.
Floyd Street Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. John R. Allen, pastor.
Congregationalist Church, Rev. H. M. Daniels, pastor.
German Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. H. Dietz, pastor.
German Presbyterian Church, Rev. A. Krebs, pastor.
Tabernacle Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. W. A. Allen, pastor.
Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rev. Mr. Black, pastor.
On motion, it was resolved that the meetings open in the Young Men's Christian Association rooms, on Lamar street, between Main and Commerce, next Sunday evening, August 5th, at 8 o'clock.
On motion, an executive committee consisting of the pastors of the different churches, and one layman from each church, to whom all matters of business pertaining to said meetings be referred, was appointed. The committee so appointed is as follows:
First Presbyterian Church—Dr. A. P. Smith, pastor; L. C. Reed.
Lamar Street Methodist Episcopal Church, South—Rev. M. H. Neely, pastor; W. L. Vaughan.
Congregational Church—Rev. H. M. Daniels, pastor; Deacon George S. Webber.
Floyd Street Methodist Episcopal Church—Rev. John Allen, pastor; Dr. J. B. Baird.
German Methodist Episcopal Church—Rev. H. Dietz, pastor; John Wurster.
German Presbyterian Church—Rev. A. Krebs, pastor; H. A. Stade.
Tabernacle Methodist Episcopal Church—Rev. W. A. Allen, pastor; Dr. J. Martin.
Cumberland Presbyterian Church—Rev. Mr. Black; R. B. Seay.
In the absence of Dr. A. P. Smith, J. M. McCoy was authorized to represent him in the executive committee.
On motion the executive committee was requested to meet immediately on the adjournment of this meeting.
On motion, the city papers are requested to publish the proceedings of this meeting.
Meeting adjourned sine die.

Immediately after the adjournment of the above, a meeting of the executive committee was held at which the Rev. H. M. Daniels was elected president and Dr. J. Martin, secretary.
On motion, a committee on music was appointed, consisting of L. C. Reed, W. L. Vaughan and Rev. H. M. Daniels.
On motion, the executive committee take into consideration the appointment of a committee on finance, and report at the next regular meeting.
On motion, Rev. H. M. Daniels, Rev. A. Krebs, and J. J. Wurster, were appointed a committee to draft a programme for the religious services, and report at the next meeting.
On motion, the committee adjourned to meet in the Young Men's Christian Association rooms, Tuesday night, at 8 o'clock.
