UNBIASSED SUFFRAGE.
Two literary gentlemen, without any further view than the gratification of a liberal curiosity, called to see Charles Thompson, a few days since, at his farm, ten or twelve miles over Schuylkill. They found the venerable sage in good health and spirits. At the age of eighty-seven, his heart still pants for the good of his country: for on being asked whether Virginia must furnish the next president, or whether another state might not find a worthy substitute for the executive candidate, he immediately replied, "I would give my vote for De Witt Clinton. I have been acquainted with that family for half a century. I always respected his uncle; and I consider him as a man of talents and principles worthy of the school in which he was brought up."
