Full Text

The Grand Jury.-During Friday and Saturday the Grand Jury were engaged in the investigation of the matters connected with the abduction of Rowland Stephenson. Several witnesses were examined, among whom were Mr. Goodhue and Mr. Hays. The British Consul who was also subpoenaed having intimated that he was unable from sickness to attend the jury on Saturday, they adjourned over until to-day, when he will probably be examined.

Mr. Goodhue's partner, Mr. Pettit, is one of the Jury, and has persisted in retaining his seat, notwithstanding the objections which were made by several of the witnesses, and also by the acting District Attorney. It is not probable that any indictment will be found.
