Full Text

Don't Apply to Nashville.

Considerable interest has been excited by the repeal of the old law regulating the letter-carrier system, which provided that all cities with a population of twenty thousand and upward, should have the mails delivered by this system, and the passage of a new enactment placing the required population of cities entitled to letter-carriers at thirty thousand. This law, however, will not apply to Nashville, as this city and Edgefield are in the same carrier's office, and the two populations taken together would exceed the limit now required.
