Group Works for Extension of Hwy. 97

KAMLOOPS, B.C. (AP) - President John Killian of the Okanagan Cariboo Trail Assn. said Friday the group is working for extension of Highway 97 into a 12,000-mile Pan-American highway from the "top of North America to the foot of South America."

Killian told a press conference at the opening of the annual convention here that the highway now covers 3,000 miles from Weed, Cal., to Fairbanks, Alaska. It will be extended to Nome.

First project for the association is extension of the highway into Mexico and later through Central America and South America.
