For Imperial and Riverside
A joint health conference for the 29th P.-T. A. district (Imperial County) and for the 23rd district, (Riverside county) will take place on Friday of this week in Thermal.
This announcement was made at the 29th district January meeting Monday in Alamo by Mrs. W. J. Meagher of El Centro, district health chairman.
The conference is to be an all day affair open to both lay and professional people, with a large delegation attending from Imperial Valley.
Mrs. M. G. Boucher of San Diego, seventh vice-president for the California Congress of Parents and Teachers, will lead a panel discussion on health in which the following will participate: Mrs. Boucher, Mrs. Ernest Blenkhorn, state chairman of mental hygiene; Mrs. W. T. Kirven, state chairman of public health; Dr. Warren F. Fox, Imperial county health officer; Mrs. Meagher, district health chairman; and the health officer and district health chairman for Riverside county.
Mrs. A. V. Vierhus of Calexico, 29th district president, presided at the meeting and reported on the recent sessions of the state board of managers which she attended in Los Angeles.
Mrs. E. K. Strong, first vice-president of the state congress, will be present for the Imperial county convention April 29, Mrs. Vierhus announced.
Mrs. H. K. Law, president of the Alamo association, greeted the guests and Mrs. W. Dressor of Holtville, vice-president, announced the February district meeting for the third Monday at Mt. Signal.
Mrs. R. L. Glasby of Calexico, district parliamentarian, spoke on the importance of a knowledge of parliamentary procedure in expediting organization work.
Informal conferences of various officers and chairmen followed after the business session.
