The above statistics were taken by me at the time of making up the Grand List in April and May, 1847, and the price for grain is put at what it was selling for at that time.

The town of Richmond is not a full township of six miles square and containing 23040 acres, but contains only about 17000 acres of land, and one third or more of it is not under cultivation.— But I think we produce as much as any town in the state of the same size and quality of land, if not I should like to see the figures.
The article of Beef was not made out when this list was taken, but estimated from the best information we could get.
