Fall Behind Pace Set in '39 and '40
El Centro's 1941 building pace at the end of the first month reached a $22,310 total, according to statistics furnished by the city engineer's office, as permits for the past week totaled $3360.
The $22,000 mark was more than $3,000 below the building total on the same date one year ago and more than $18,000 below the 1939 pace, statistics revealed.
Permits issued during the week included Ed Crandall, 1075 Hamilton, $250, alterations; L. S. Blenkiron, 775 Main, $2400, store and office; Standard Oil, 390 Main, $550, repairs; C. H. Schneider, 125 No. 6th, $85, alterations; A. K. Komata, 442 Broadway, $75, alterations.
