Dad's Name Not Engraved
On Hollywood Sidewalk
HOLLYWOOD, (AP) Charlie Chaplin Jr. is miffed because his famous father's name isn't engraved in the cement of Hollywood's sidewalks.
So he brought suit against Los Angeles City Council, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Hollywood Improvement Assn. to make such a record.
Young Chaplin charges that the groups "arbitrarily and with malice, prejudice and bias" decided not to include his father's name.
He termed the elder Chaplin's career "a milestone in the history of picture making."
The celebrated comedian and his family now reside in Switzerland.
