Moody and Sankey.

New York, Nov. 6.-Mr. Sankey was not present at the revival meeting in the Brooklyn Tabernacle to-day. Rev. Fred. Bell, the reformed pugilist, took his place. Mr. Moody said he had a great many requests for prayer, and all with the exception of four asked prayers for others. He wished to have more people requesting prayers for themselves. The hymn "Jesus lover of my soul" was then sung by the congregation and Mr. Moody read the 28th Chapter of Acts and delivered a discourse upon the passage. He, as a further lesson, read Paul's Epistle to the Corinthians, and the 5th verse of the 5th chapter of St. Matthew. He said he hoped they all thirsted after righteousness. He did, and he prayed that God might fill him with it. They should not ask for drops, but floods of it. At the request of Moody, Mr. Needham, the Irish Evangelist, offered a fervent prayer for the blessing of God on their work. Dr. Fulton, of Hanson-place Baptist Church followed by a lengthy supplication to God to aid the ministry in the work. Rev. Dr. Cuyler made a few remarks, and offered prayer, and he was followed by Rev Fred. Bell. They sang "Nearer My God to Thee," after which another clergyman arose and said he thought the cause of Christ would be furthered if they stopped patronizing grocers, butchers, barbers and street cars on the Sabbath, but Moody interrupted him by saying they must not wander from the subject before them, and called on Rev. Mr. Davis to pronounce the benediction. After the meeting had been dismissed he called the clergymen about the platform for conference, and among the number who took part in the proceedings were Rev. Dr. Fulton, Rev. Henry Ward Beecher, Rev. Bell, Rev. Dr. Parker, Rev. Dr. Cuyler, Rev. Mr. Ward and others. Their principal business was the laying out of work for the coming week. and discussing the best course to pursue in bringing souls to Christ.
