Event Details
A 10-year-old son of Mr. Samuel Sneers wandered from his father's house into the woods near the great Cedar Swamp, missing his way and entering the swamp where he perished. Searches by great numbers of people throughout the week were unsuccessful. On last Lord's Day, 500-800 men from adjacent towns formed a line and marched into the swamp, finding the body about 1 o'clock P.M. lying dead on his back with arms folded, partly under water.
